What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP1301010 BARNOLDSWICK & FP1318019 SALTERFORTH, PENDLE BOROUGH )
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 1st November, 2025, remaining in force until the 1st May, 2027, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding over those lengths of the Public Footpaths indicated below:-

Public Footpaths FP1301010 Barnoldswick & FP1318019 Salterforth, Pendle, from Long Ing Lane at Point A (SD 8853 4692) in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 220 metres to Point B (SD 8895 4667) at Salterforth Lane.

The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works.
