(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian to proceed over that length part of Manchester Road, Burnley form the north western boundary (rear of footway) for a width of 3.5 metres from a point 10 metres northeast of its junction with Yorke Street for a distance of 20 metres in a north easterly direction, the effect of which is to close the footway and part of the carriageway.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Monday 20th October 2025 until 1700 hours on Saturday 25th April 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. An alternative route for pedestrian traffic affected by the footway closure is to be locally signed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the refurbishment and conversion of the Brun Lea public house to be carried out.
