What is happening?

BOURNEMOUTH, CHRISTCHURCH AND POOLE COUNCIL

(Bournemouth Hospital, Deansleigh Road) Experimental Order (No. 1) 2025

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council ("The Council") has made the above Order on 2nd October 2025. The Order becomes operational on 20th October 2025.

The effect of the Order is outlined in the Schedules to this Notice. The provisions of the Order may be varied or amended within the regulations governing Experimental Order. The persons authorised to agree such variations or amendments are: The Chief Constable of the Dorset Police and the Director of Transport and Engineering of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council; or such of their officers as they may authorise.

From 10th October 2025 a copy of this Notice, a plan illustrating the proposals, a copy of the Order and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order may be inspected online at: www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/highwayconsultations, and at the BCP Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY, (by appointment only Monday to Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm, contact: traffic@bcpcouncil.gov.uk).

The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the coming into force of the Order – 20th October 2025 or if the Order are subsequently varied by other Order (under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or modified pursuant to sub-section (2) of Section 10 of the Act), from the coming into operation of those variations or modifications (whichever are the latest), any person may object to the making of an Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation.

If you wish to make representations in support of, or in objection to, the proposals please do so online at: www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/highwayconsultations. Alternatively, you may send them in writing, quoting reference: E1 2025 and specifying the grounds of any objection to: Traffic Team, BCP Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY to arrive by 20th April 2026.

Please take note that all representations received will be available for public inspection. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of the provisions contained in it on the grounds that either is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, as amended, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks from 2nd October 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
