Bedford Area - Multiple Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Orders

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(SALFORD ROAD, ASPLEY GUISE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Salford Road, Aspley Guise outside numbers 71 to 73.
This temporary closure is required to enable fire hydrant repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained
to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 20 to 22 October 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Salford Road, Crabtree Lane, Cranfield Road, Station Road, Weathercock Lane, West Hill, Church Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CLOPHILL ROAD, MAULDEN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clophill Road, Maulden opposite 123.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will
be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 22 to 24 October 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A6, A507 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 22 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(KILN LANE AND MILL LANE, CLOPHILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Mill Lane, Clophill from The Strand to Kiln Lane and Kiln Lane, Clophill from Mill Lane to Hall.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on Kiln Lane, Clophill from 21 to 27 October 2025 between 8am and 6pm and Mill Lane, Clophill from
28 October to 3 November 2025 from 8am and 6pm.
The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Kiln Lane, Little Lane, High Street, Mill Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 21 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(HAYNES: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO. 7) PUBLIC
PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
The above Order made on 10 October 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes as described below. The length of part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1019 4170 in a generally
south-south-westerly direction for approximately 81 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes at OS GR TL 1015 4162.
The bridleway is stopped up across its full width.
The length of part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes at Ordnance
Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1019 4170 in a generally south-westerly
direction for approximately 40 metres to OS GR TL 1016 4167 then continues in a generally southerly direction for approximately 49 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 7, Haynes at OS GR TL 1015 4162.
The new route of the bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order and
will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.

The above Order made on 10 October 2025 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert part of Public Footpath No. 2, Haynes as described below. The length of part of Footpath No. 2, Haynes to be
stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 2, Haynes at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0728 4162 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 240 metres to terminate at
its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 2, Haynes at OS GR TL 0704 4161.
The footpath is stopped up across its full width.
The length of part of Footpath No. 2, Haynes to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 2, Haynes at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0728 4162 in a generally westerly direction for approximately 227 metres to OS GR TL 0705 4158 then continues in a generally northnorth-westerly direction for approximately 36 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 2, Haynes at OS GR TL 0704 4161.
The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.
