What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
SECTION 119 HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
PUBLIC FOOTPATHS E53 AND E54 (PARTS) AT EDMONDTHORPE
IN THE PARISH OF WYMONDHAM AND EDMONDTHORPE AND THE BOROUGH OF MELTON PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 2nd October 2025 Leicestershire County Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed (without modification) is to divert the part of Footpath E53 which extends from grid reference 48572 31747 to grid reference 48572 31757 and then continues to grid reference 48576 31757. The route to be diverted has no specified width.
The effect of the Order as confirmed (without modification) is also to divert the part of Footpath E54 which extends from grid reference 48565 31748 to grid reference 48572 31753. The route to be diverted has no specified width.
The alternative route of Footpath E53 will extend from grid reference 48572 31747 to grid reference 48565 31751 and will then continue to grid reference 48561 31760. The new alternative Footpath will have a width of 3m between grid reference 48572 31747 and Main Street.
The alternative route of Footpath E54 will extend from grid reference 48565 31748 to grid reference 48565 31751. The new alternative Footpath will have a width of 3m between grid reference 48565 31748 and Footpath E53.
A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map has been placed and may be seen free of charge at Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield and the offices of Melton Borough Council, Station Approach, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1GH during normal office hours. A copy has also been sent to the Clerk to Wymondham and Edmondthorpe Parish Council. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased at a cost. The Order comes into force on 1st November 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in
relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from the date of this Notice, make an application to the High Court.
