Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The A13 GLA Road (Ripple Road and Thames Gateway, London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Havering)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (No.2) Order 2025

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable road safety works to take place at A13 Thames Gateway.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, exiting or proceeding on:

(1) Thames Gateway/Ripple Road between its junctions with the unnamed on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway/Ripple Road with the traffic system at the junctions of Choats Manor Way and A1306 Ripple Road hereafter referred to as Goresbrook Interchange and the unnamed on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junction with Marsh Way;

(2) Thames Gateway between its junctions with the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junctions with Marsh Way and the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames gateway to the roundabout junctions with Ferry Lane;

(3) Thames Gateway between its junctions with the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway to the roundabout junctions with Ferry Lane and the on and off-slip roads connecting Thames Gateway with the roundabout junctions with A1306 New Road/New Road hereafter referred to as Wennington Interchange.

The Order will be effective at certain times 20th October 2025 and 20th June 2027 each night 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM (ceasing at 5:00 AM on 20th June 2027) or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

(1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via:

(Div1) Ferry Lane, Lamson Road, Roundabout junction with Broadway, Bridge Road, Roundabout junction with A1306 New Road and Rainham Road (Dovers Corner), New Road and Marsh Way to normal route of travel and in reverse;

(Div2) unnamed off-slip road connecting Thames Gateway to Ferry Lane roundabout junction, Ferry Lane roundabout, Thames Gateway unnamed on-slip road; Thames Gateway, unnamed off-slip road connecting Thames Gateway to Marsh Way roundabout junction, Marsh Way roundabout, Marsh Way and New Road to normal route of travel;

(Div3) unnamed off-slip road connecting Thames Gateway to Marsh Way Roundabout junction, Marsh Way Roundabout junction, Thames Gateway, unnamed A13 off-slip road, Ferry Lane roundabout junction, Ferry Lane, Lamson Road, Roundabout junction with Bridge Road and Viking Way, Bridge Road, Dovers Corner and New Road to normal route of travel;
