Mount Zion Brae, Arbroath - Temporary Restriction for Scottish Water Sewer Works

What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER

On 13 October 2025, Angus Council made The Angus Council (Mount Zion Brae, Arbroath)(Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2025, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that Scottish Water sewer works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on 21 October 2025, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of 10 days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on Mount Zion Brae, Arbroath from its junction with Dishlandtown Street in a southerly direction for distance of 25 metres or thereby. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternative route for north-east bound vehicular traffic is via Dishlandtown Street, West Port (B9095) and Milgate Loan (B9114). The Reverse route is via Milgate Loan (B9114), Millgate (B9114), Burnside Drive (A92), Catherine Street and Dishlandtown Street. The alternative route for south-west bound vehicular traffic is via Dishlandtown Street, Colville Place, Albert Street, Alexander Place, Common Brae and Millgate Loan (B9114). The reverse route applies.
