West Bromwich / Rowley Regis / Tividale - Temporary Road Closures & Turning Bans

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Houghton Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Houghton Street, which will be closed between the junctions of Spon Lane South and Hall Street South. Access to affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Spon Lane South, Kenrick Way (eastbound), Telford Way Roundabout, Kenrick Way (westbound) and Hall Street South. A further traffic diversion route will be signed via Hall Street South, Kenrick Way and Spon Lane. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 30/10/2025 effective from 29/10/2025 (7pm-6am). Purpose – to facilitate access to complete concrete repairs to the underside of the M5 carriageway by National Highways.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Oak Lane, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Oak Lane, which will be closed between the dividing line of property Nos. 15/17 and the dividing line of property Nos. 23/25. Access to affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Oak Road, Izons Road and Oxford Road. A further traffic diversion route will be signed via Oxford Road and Lodge Road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 26/10/2025 effective from 25/10/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for 2 new electrical service connections by National Grid Electricity Distribution.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Titford Lane, Rowley Regis) (Temporary Road Closure & Right Turn Ban) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Titford Lane, which will be closed from its junction with Oldbury Road and Birchfield Lane to west of the entrance to The Ashes. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed for general traffic via Oldbury Road, Pencricket Lane, Causeway Green Road and vice versa. A traffic diversion route will be signed for HGVs via Oldbury Road, Station Road, Cakemore Road, Pencricket Lane and then rejoin general traffic route and vice versa. A right turn ban will also be in place on Oldbury Road at the junction of Titford Lane for the duration of the Titford Lane closure. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/11/2025 effective from 27/10/2025 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hamilton Drive & Johns Lane, Tividale) (Temporary Road Closures, Right Turn Ban & Left Turn Ban) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the below locations: a) Hamilton Drive will be closed from its junction with Tipton Road to the boundary line of property Nos. 3 & 5 (27/10/2025 - 03/11/2025). A right turn ban will be in place on Tipton Road at the junction of Hamilton Drive for traffic travelling in a westerley direction and a left turn ban will be in place on Tipton Road at the junction of Hamilton Drive for traffic travelling in a easterly direction (27/10/2025 - 03/11/2025). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. b) In addition, there will be 2-way temporary traffic signals in operation on Tipton Road at the junction of Hamilton Drive for the duration of the Hamilton Drive road closure. c) Johns Lane will be closed from it’s junction with Tipton Road for approximately 50 metres (03/11/2025 - 14/11/2025). A right turn ban will be in place on Tipton Road at the junction of Johns Lane for traffic travelling in a westerly direction and a left turn ban will be in place on Tipton Road at the junction of Johns Lane for traffic travelling in a easterly direction (03/11/2025 - 14/11/2025). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. d) In addition, there will be 3-way temporary traffic signals in operation on Tipton Road at the junction of Britannia Street for the duration of the Johns Lane road closure. A traffic diversion route will be signed for the Hamilton Drive closure via Tipton Road, Temple Way and vice versa. A traffic diversion route will be signed for the Johns Lane closure via Tipton Road, Hamilton Drive, Temple Way and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 14/11/2025 effective from 27/10/2025 (24hrs).
