Harrow - Temporary Road Closures due to Remembrance Sunday Parade
What is happening?
SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROADS OR PARTS OF ROADS FOR REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
THE COUNCIL OF LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they have made an order under the provisions of Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which would temporarily introduce road closures in the roads listed below to allow a Remembrance Sunday parade to take place.
1. The general effect of the order would be to introduce the following temporary restrictions on 9th November 2025.
High Street, Pinner Parade Route – 8am to 1pm
2. Until normal traffic can be resumed, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to enter High Street, Pinner, between its junctions with Grange Gardens and Bridge Street.
3. No person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load in High Street, Pinner, between its junctions with Grange Gardens and Bridge Street.
High Street, Edgware Parade Route – 7:30am to 1:30pm
4. No person would cause or permit any vehicle to enter High Street, Edgware, between its junctions with Whitchurch Lane and Canons Drive.
5. No person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load in High Street, Edgware, between its junctions with Whitchurch Lane and Canons Drive.
Station Road Parade Route – 8:00am to 12:00pm
6. Until normal traffic can be resumed, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in, enter or exit;
(a) Station Road, between its junctions with College Road, Harrow and Railway Approach;
(b) Havelock Place, at its junction with Greenhill Way.
7. Until normal traffic can be resumed, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to turn left into Station Road from College Road.
8. Until normal traffic can be resumed, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel in a direction other than from south to north on Station Road between its junctions Gayton Road and College Road.
9. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load in Station Road, Harrow, between its junction with College Road and Greenhill Way.
Alternative Parade Route – 8:00am to 12:00pm
10. Until normal traffic can be resumed, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in, enter or exit;
(a) Havelock Place, between its junctions with St Anns Road and Greenhill Way;
(b) Greenhill Way, between its junctions with Headstone Road and Station Road, Harrow;
(c) Greenhill Road, between its junction with Welldon Crescent and its southern extremity;
(d) Welldon Crescent, between its junctions with Angel Road and Hindes Road;
(e) Hindes Road, between a point opposite the western boundary wall of No. 24 and a point opposite the eastern boundary wall of No. 26;
(f) Hamilton Road, between its junctions with Nibthwaite Road and Hindes Road;
(g) Nibthwaite Road, between a point opposite the eastern boundary wall of No 64 and a point opposite the western boundary wall of No 45;
(h) Colton Road, between its junctions with Nibthwaite Road and Blawith Road;
(i) Blawith Road, between its junctions with Colton Road and Poets Way;
(j) Poets Way, between its junctions with Blawith Road and Milton Road;
(k) Milton Road, between its junctions with Marlborough Hill and Poets Way;
(l) Marlborough Hill, between its junction with Milton Road and a point 50 meters east of the eastern boundary of Barons Mead.
Additional Provisions
11. The provisions of Schedule 2, item 1 of The Harrow (Prescribed Routes) (Harrow Town Centre) Traffic Order 2011 would not apply to any vehicles being used in connection with the Remembrance Sunday Event.
12. Nothing in Articles 2 to 12 of this order would apply to:–
(a) any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;
(c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
13. The provisions of this order will not have effect unless all the signs in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (b) are displayed.
14. Diversion Routes;
High Street, Pinner Parade Route via Church Lane, Nower Hill, Pinner Road and Marsh Road and vice versa.
High Street, Edgware Parade Route via Whitchurch Lane, Marsh Lane, London Road, Cannons Corner and Stonegrove.
Station Road Parade Route via Sheepcote Road, Kenton Road, Tyburn Lane, Lowlands Road, Pinner Road, Greenhill Way, Headstone Road, Harrow View, Courtenay Avenue, Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald, High Road, High Street, Wealdstone and George Gange Way and vice versa.
