ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Loading Bays

The Embankment, Twickenham.

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate loading and unloading, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in The Embankment, Twickenham.

2. Whilst the works take place, 6 loading bays will be introduced to the west of the Footbridge linking Eel Pie Island, operating between 8.30am and 6.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive, with a maximum stay of 1 hour, and no return within 1 hour.

3. The order will come into effect on 13 October 2025 and will remain in force for a period of 18 months.

4. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

5. Nothing in the Order applies to:

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

(c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

The London of Richmond upon Thames (Prescribed Route) (Banned Turn) (No. 1)

Experimental Order 2025

ALEXANDRA ROAD, TWICKENHAM, BANNED RIGHT TURN FROM CAMBRIDGE PARK

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, on 8 October 2025 made the above Order under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order will come into force on 20 October 2025.

2. The general effect of the Order is to introduce banned right turn for north-west bound traffic in Cambridge Park into Alexandra Road. The restrictions will operate between 7am and 10am on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

3. Copies of particulars giving further details of the scheme: -

(a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 25/182, at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and

(b) may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices

4. In pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the Assistant Director – Traffic and Engineering of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, as the specified officer, or some person authorised in that behalf by that officer may, if it appears to that officer or to that person essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic, or of the provision of suitable and adequate parking facilities on the highway, or for preserving or improving the amenities of the areas through which the roads affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the Orders or any provision thereof.

5. If the provisions of the Order continues in operation for a period of not less than six months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of an Order under section 6 of the said Act of 1984. Persons wishing to subject to or support the making of such an Order for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the period of six months referred to above) send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds of that objection to the address below.

6. Please address any representations to the Order to the Head of Engineering, Traffic and Parking Policy, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ or by email to TrafficOrders@richmond.gov.uk quoting the reference given above.

7. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION

ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Road Closure Old Palace Terrace, Richmond

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a crane operation works they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Old Palace Terrace, Richmond.

2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Old Palace Terrace from its junction with Kings Street to its junction with The Green.

3. Whilst Old Palace Terrace Richmond is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available northbound via King Street, Friars Lane, and Westbound via The Green, Pembroke Villas, Portland Terrace, The Green and Old Palace Terrace.

4. The order will come into effect on 21 October 2025. The restrictions for these works are anticipated to be in progress on 21 October 2025 only with a backup date of 04 November 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION

Temporary Road Closure

Oldfield Road, Hampton.

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecom works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Oldfield Road, Hampton.

2. Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Priory Road, from its junction with Hill Field Road southwards for a distance of 80 meters into Oldfield Road.

3. Whilst Oldfield Road, Hampton is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Priory Road, Percy Road and Oldfield Road and vice versa.

4. The order will come into effect on 11 October 2025. The works are anticipated to be in progress from 11 October 2025 only the order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.

5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION

ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Bus Lane Suspension Paradise Road & Footpath Closure Church Walk, Richmond

1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate building development works, they intend to make a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary prohibition of traffic in Paradise Road, Richmond and a footpath closure in Church Walk Richmond.

2. Whilst the work takes place, the bus lane in Paradise Road between the junction with Eton Street and the junction with Church Terrace shall be suspended the effect being that vehicular traffic shall be permitted to proceed in that length of bus lane.

3. Church Walk footpath will be closed from outside No. 4 Church Walk to number 2 Church Walk junction with Paradise Road.

4. The order will come into effect on 16 October 2025, the works are anticipated to be in progress Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am–4pm from 16 October 2025 to 07 August 2026. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
