Modification Order 2025
On the 07 October 2025 WSCC confirmed the above order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A(2) Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The Order, as confirmed diverts part of footpath 814 from Skiff Lane, in the vicinity of Hurst Farmhouse (grid ref 504215,129206) and substituting it with a new length of footpath which heads south east from the length of path to be stopped up and continues to rejoin the existing length of path at the edge of the woodland (grid reference 504306,129158) as shown between points A and C on the order plan.
A copy of the Order and the Order plan have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of WSCC, County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ Mondays to Fridays between 0900 hours and 1600 hours OR BY visiting the County Council website at www.westsussex.gov.uk and searching rights of way notices. A copy of the Order and Map may be purchased from the Council at the cost of £6.
The Order comes into force on the date on which is it confirmed but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 16 October 2025 make application to the High Court.
