Kirkgate Area - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
What is happening?
North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Kirkgate,
Knaresborough, Order 2025, No. 363 We have made this Order to
prohibit any pedestrian from using the footpath at HAY1/9, Knaresborough
for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 22/10/25 &
23/10/25, due to detailed bridge inspection. However, the max duration of
this Order is until 22/10/26. The closure period will be indicated by traffic
signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. All

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Common Lane, Beal, Order 2025, No.
365 We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Common
Lane, Beal for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between
20/10/25 & 01/12/25, due to Yorkshire Water works to install a clean water
main. However, the max duration of this Order is until 20/02/26. The closure
period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be

30 Mph Speed Limit, Bawtry Road, Selby, Order 2025 Notice is hereby
given that on 10/10/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under
Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of
Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any motor
vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 30 mph on the length of road
specified below. Bawtry Road, from the existing 30mph limit south for
1500m. A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 20/10/25, may
be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Selby Library, 52 Micklegate,
Selby, YO8 4EQ during normal office hours from 16/10/25 until 21/11/25 &
also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or
www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to question the
validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it
is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any
Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the
Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 10/10/25 make application to the High
Court for the purpose.
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment
No 63, Order 2025 Notice is hereby given that on 10/10/25 The North
Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2),
32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule
9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of
which is to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting &
Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Selby) Consolidation Order
2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:- Schedule
- Disabled Parking Bay Sherburn in Elmet, North Drive, South side from
Outside number 20 for 4.8m. A copy of the Order, which comes into
operation on 20/10/25, together with a map showing the roads affected may
be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Sherburn & Villages
Community Library, Finkle Hill, Sherburn in Elmet, LS25 6EA during normal

Temporary 40 MPH Speed Restriction, A19 Selby Road, Balne, Order
2025 No. 395 We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from
proceeding in excess of 40 mph along A19 Selby Road, Balne for a
temporary period between 21/10/25 & 30/09/26, due to uneven road. The
restriction will be put into effect by notices & signs. This restriction follows
an emergency restriction under Notice No 161 which commenced on

Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to
amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading &
Provision of Parking) (District of Selby) Consolidation Order 2013” by
introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:- Schedule 1 -
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking Riccall, Main
Street, East side of road from junction with Stonegate Road South for 43m.
A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 27/10/25, together with
a map showing the roads affected may be examined at County Hall,
Northallerton and at Selby Library, 52 Micklegate, Selby, YO8 4EQ during
normal office hours from 21/08/25 to 12/09/25 & also viewed online at
