WAKEFIELD COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(PONTEFRACT ROAD, NORMANTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 314) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Pontefract Road, Normanton for approximately 35 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Pontefract Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Pontefract Road, Loscoe Lane, Normanton Bypass, Bruce Smeaton Way, Leeds Road, Cutsyke Hill Leeds Road, Willowbridge Lane, Whitwood Common Lane, Castleford Road, Pontefract Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st October 2025 between 19.00 hours and 23.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(CROSS LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 316) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for electrical fuse upgrade to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Cross Lane, Wakefield opposite the shops to outside number 2 for approximately 87 metres.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Cross Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Manor Drive, Dewsbury Road, Horbury Road onto Cross Lane & vice versa. Access maintained for residents where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 20th October 2025 to 31st October 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(PRIMROSE LANE, CALDER GROVE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 317) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for installation of telecoms apparatus to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Primrose Lane, Calder Grove, to outside number 1b. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Primrose Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Denby Dale Road West & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 20th October 2025 to 24th October 2025 between 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(OUCHTHORPE LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 318) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ouchthorpe Lane, Wakefield outside number 13 Ouchthorpe Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ouchthorpe Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Bar Lane, Leeds Road, Newton Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 22nd October 2025 between 09.00 hours and 13.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(LAKE LOCK ROAD, STANLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 319) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to place a skip and delivery vehicles on the carriageway for building repair works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Lake Lock Road, Stanley for approximately 75 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Lake Lock Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Aberford Road, Lime Pit Lane, Lake Lock Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 20th October 2025 to 15th December 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(FOOTPATH 51, STANLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 320) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for extensive works within the Blossom Chase development including reconstruction of this footpath to be carried out on or near Footpath 51, Stanley, footpath leading from Blossom Chase to Westfield Crescent, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an
Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.
Alternative route for pedestrians: Kirkham Avenue, Brandy Carr Road, Batley Road, Westfield Crescent & vice versa.
The order comes into operation on 21st October 2025 to 12th December 2025.
(KIRKHAM AVENUE, KIRKHAMGATE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 321) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for extensive works within the Blossom Chase development to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Kirkham Avenue, Kirkhamgate, one way closure around the roundabout. One way system in place to improve safety of residents. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Kirkham Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st October 2025 to 12th December 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(LOW MOOR LANE, WOOLLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 335) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to install telecoms ducting to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Low Moor Lane, Woolley from the junction of Stoney Lane for 650 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Low Moor Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Bolton Wife Hill, Intake Lane, Woolley Low Moor Lane, Low Moor Lane.
Reverse route – Low Moor Lane, Woolley Low Moor Lane, Common Lane, Intake Lane, Bolton Wife Hill.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd November 2025 to 14th November 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Road closed 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, open at all other times. Residents access will be maintained.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(CARR LANE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 336) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to install new water supply connection to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Carr Lane, Wakefield outside number 12. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Carr Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion, cul de sac.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 5th November 2025 to 11th November 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Road closed 08.00 hours to 20.00 hours.
Residents access will be maintained where possible.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(MOUNT AVENUE, WRENTHORPE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 339) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for joint hole, 5m of trench and 5m road crossing to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Mount Avenue, Wrenthorpe for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Mount Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 4th November 2025 at 08.00 hours to 10th November 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(PARK GARDENS, OSSETT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 341) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to complete footway resurfacing to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Park Gardens, Ossett, full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Park Gardens.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion, dead end. Pedestrian access maintained at all times, access to residents maintained when safe to do so.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd November 2025 to 14th November 2025, closed 07.30 hours to 15.30 hours Monday to Friday, open all other times, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
