London Borough of Southwark - Holyrood Street and various roads - temporary prohibition of traffic
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)
HOLYROOD STREET, UNDERHILL ROAD, PRICES STREET, DOCKLEY ROAD
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable various works to be carried out, it intends, to make an order, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicular traffic from entering part of the above named roads.
2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs/road markings are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, stop, wait, load or unload at any time in:
(2a) Holyrood Street, between Shand Street and Magdalen Street (2b) Underhill Road, between No’s 27 and No’s 28 to outside and opposite No’s 30 (2c) Prices Street, at it’s junction with Bear Lane (2d) Dockley Road, between Thurland Road and Lucey Way
3. The alternative routes for affected traffic will be (2a) not applicable. (2b) as indicated by the signs displayed (2c) not applicable (2d) as indicated by the signs displayed
4. The existing ‘one-way’ working in Melford Road, between Lordship Lane and Underhill Road, will be made ‘two-way’ for access and egress purposes (2b) as indicated by the signs displayed (2c) not applicable 5. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works.
6. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
7. The closure will be in operation on the following dates (2a) 3rd – 4th November, between 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs (2b) 4th – 5th October (2c) 4th, 6th, 25th, 27th October (2d) 3rd – 4th and 4th – 5th October, between 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs.
