What is happening?

West Sussex County Council

(Crawley: A23 London Road (Northbound)) 

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, West Sussex County Council intend to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 30MPH on the length of the A23 London Road between Airport Way Access and Longbridge Roundabout junction. A lane will be closed and the speed restriction will be in place from 3 November until 14 November 2025.

The Order will also prohibit any vehicles from travelling along the A23 London Road between Airport Way Access and Longbridge Roundabout junction between 2000 hours and 0600 hours on 2 and 3 November and 14 and 15 November 2025 to allow concrete barriers to be installed and removed. The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst strutural bridge works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 2 November 2025 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed. (Western Boulevard Amendment) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council made a permanent Traffic Order the effect of which will be to:

(i)  introduce lengths of prohibition of waiting at all times (double yellow lines) on the south side of The Boulevard (N/W service road); and

(ii) relocate the disabled and motorcycle bays on Bank Lane 5M south of their current position.

The Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the WSCC  Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 4 June 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
