Tangier Road - Proposed Amendment To Parking Restrictions
What is happening?
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS, TANGIER ROAD
1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council made the above order on 13 October 2025. The effect of the Order would be:
a) To introduce a time limit on the existing parking bay on the southwest side of Tangier Road outside Alderman Lacey Library for 1 hour, no return within 1 hour, Monday - Saturday 8am-6pm.
b) To convert the Northwest part of this parking bay to a disabled parking bay.
2. Copies of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2025" at
Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9268 8501.
3. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court. Under requirements of current access to information legislation, please note that all representations submitted in response to this Notice may be made available for public inspection. 4. This order comes into operation on 22 October 2025.
