What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF CHURCH LANE, NUNBURNHOLME
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Church Lane, Nunburnholme from Long
Hill northbound to a property called Brook Cottage
commencing 10 November 2025 between 08.00
hours until 18.00 hours for the purposes of
excavation to install approximately 1230 metres of
telecoms duct to link into the existing apparatus as part
of the larger fibre to the home scheme.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within ten hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Church Lane, Butt Lane, Lowfield
Lane, Featherbed Lane, Fishpond Hill, Millington
Lane, Kilnwick Road, The Oval, Clayfield Road, Wold
Road, Burnby Lane, Pocklington Lane, Nunburnholme
Road and Long Hill, Nunburnholme CP, Pocklington
CP, Hayton CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds
Weighton Ward. The diversion route will be signed
at the time of closure. The road will be closed to
all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
