Department for Infrastructure - temporary road closures
What is happening?
Temporary Road Closure on
U6292 High Street, Newry
Notice is hereby given that the Department for Infrastructure
in its capacity as Road Authority and acting in pursuance of its
powers under Article 7 of the Road Traffic Regulation
(Northern Ireland) Order 1997 has temporarily prohibited the
use of the above named road to through traffic, from the
junction of A28 Abbey Way to the junction of U6292 North
Street from 08:00 on Monday 20 October 2025 until 18:00 on
Friday 14 November 2025.
Local access and access for emergency vehicles will be
maintained at all times.
This closure is to facilitate work by NI Water.
An alternative route will be signed with traffic being
diverted via:
Diversion1: U6292 High Street, U6292 Church Street, U6292
Windmill Road, U6290 Ballyholland Road, U6290 Courtney

Notice is hereby given that the Department for Infrastructure
in its capacity as Road Authority and acting in pursuance of its
powers under Article 7 of the Road Traffic Regulation
(Northern Ireland) Order 1997 has temporarily prohibited the
use of the above named road to through traffic, from the
junction of U6140 Yellow Road to the junction of U6142
Carmeen Road from 19:30 on Friday 10 October 2025 until
06:00 on Friday 07 November 2025.
Local access and access for emergency vehicles will be
maintained at all times.
This closure is to facilitate work by NI Water.
An alternative route will be signed with traffic being
diverted via:
