What is happening?
Parking Places –
Disabled Persons’ Vehicles
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking
Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025.
The Order will create parking places with unlimited waiting in Belfast: Posnett Court in front
of No. 8 (Re-advertisement) and Stranmillis Gardens in front of No. 46 (Re-advertisement);
Derry/Londonderry: Lower Bennett Street in front of No. 28; Downpatrick: John Street in front
of No. 85; Newtownards: Manor Court in a parking area opposite Manor Court Community
Centre; Warrenpoint: Ardallan Park in front of No. 17.
The Order will also create a parking place with waiting limited to 2 hours on Monday to Friday
between 9.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. with no return to the parking place for 1 hour in Belfast:
Springfield Road in front of Nos. 7-9 (Crilly’s Chemist).
All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.
The Order will also remove a parking place with unlimited waiting in Derry/Londonderry:
Claremont Street in front of No. 1.

Waiting Restrictions –
Springfield Road, Belfast
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Waiting
Restrictions (Springfield Road, Belfast) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2025.
The Order will reduce an existing length of waiting restriction on Springfield Road, Belfast.
Vehicles are excepted from the restriction in certain circumstances.

Experimental Traffic Control Scheme –
Hill Street and Gordon Street, Belfast
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make the Experimental Traffic Control
Scheme – Hill Street and Gordon Street, Belfast for a period of 6 months.
The scheme will –
• prohibit all vehicles from using Hill Street, Belfast for a distance of 120 metres from its
junction with Gordon Street to its junction with Waring Street.
Vehicles are excepted from this prohibition in certain circumstances, including to permit
loading and unloading of goods between 6.00 am and 12.00 noon to premises along the
affected length of road.
The Order also -
• introduces a one-way system on Gordon Street, Belfast, from its junction with Hill Street
to Dunbar Street in an easterly direction.
