Walker Ln - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(NON DEFINITIVE ROUTES TO WHICH THE PUBLIC HAVE ACCESS, FULWOOD, PRESTON CITY )
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 1 October 2025, remaining in force until the 1 October 2026, or until any necessary works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of the Public Footpath indicated below:-
From Walker Lane at Point A (SD 5155 3309) in a south, south westerly direction for approximately 360 metres to Point B (SD 5127 3272) near Tanterton Hall Road. Then from Point B (SD 5127 3272) in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 560 metres to Point C (SD 5146 3320) on Walker Lane.
The temporary closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works.
