What is happening?

(FOUNTAIN STREET & HURST STREET, BURY)

(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council proposes to make the above named Order under sections 1, 2, 3 & 4 and Part II of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be the introduction of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions.

Fountain Street & Hurst Street, Bury

Hurst Street, north side, from the westerly kerbline of Fountain Street for a distance of 5 metres in a westerly direction

Hurst Street south side/Fountain Street east side, from a point 86 metres east of the easterly kerbline of Tinline Street to a point 13 metres south of the southerly kerbline of Back Andrew Street

Fountain Street west side from the northerly kerbline of Hurst Street for a distance of 6 metres in a northerly direction

Details of the proposals are in the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within them) with plans showing the roads and areas affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order. Copies of these may be requested by email at TROobjections@bury.gov.uk quoting ref: TM2/25/560 and they will be available for inspection at the Town Hall from 9am – 4:30pm Mon – Fri.

All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to Traffic Team, Bury Council, Bradley Fold Depot, 34 Bradley Fold Road, Ainsworth, Radcliffe, Bury BL2 6RS or preferably by email to TROobjections@bury.gov.uk quoting ref: TM2/25/560 by 31/10/25

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(WELLINGTON ROAD, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:

Wellington Road, Bury – between Manchester Road to a point east 100m from Manchester Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate highway improvement works and delivery of the Fishpool and Pimhole Bee Active Travel Scheme

The alternative route is via Manchester Road, Angouleme Way, Market Street, Heywood Street and reverse.

The prohibition will come into operation on 27/10/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 6 weeks.
