The Hollies, Wigan – Prohibition of Loading Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough

Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads) (Traffic

Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.194) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 2nd November 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a prohibition of loading at any time on:

•  The Hollies, Wigan (both sides) from its junction with Wigan Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Wigan Lane

A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing s.eccles-churton@wigan.gov.uk.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:

(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004, or

(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of

Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 1st October 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

•  Marylebone Place, Wigan (both sides) from a point 62 metres east of its junction with Wigan Lane to a point 70 metres east of its junction with Wigan Lane A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing s.eccles-churton@wigan.gov.uk.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:

(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004, or

Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads)

(Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.192) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 2nd November 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•    Back Mesnes Street, Wigan (West Side) from its junction with Northway to a point 50 metres south of its junction with Northway.

•    Back Mesnes Street, Wigan (East Side) from its junction with Northway to a point 25 metres south of its junction with Northway.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce restricted loading on:

•    Back Mesnes Steet, Wigan (West Side) from its junction with Northway to a point 50 metres south of its junction with Northway during a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 8am to 6pm.

•    Back Mesnes Steet, Wigan (East Side) from its junction with Northway to a point 25 metres south of its junction with Northway during a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 8am to 6pm.

A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing 

s.eccles-churton@wigan.gov.uk. Any person who desires to

question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:

(a) t hat it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic

Management Act 2004, or

(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of

Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 1st October 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

A49 Preston Road, Standish – Restriction of Waiting

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough

Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of

Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.609) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 2nd November 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting on the following lengths of road between the times and on the days specified below:

•  A49 Preston Road, Standish (west side) from a point 50 metres south of its junction with Avondale Street to a point 70 metres south of its junction with Avondale Street, 8am - 7pm on any day.

A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing s.eccles-churton@wigan.gov.uk.

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:

(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic

Management Act 2004, or

(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of

Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 1st October 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

Gawsworth Road, Golborne – Temporary Closure

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant

Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Gawsworth Road, Golborne) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Gawsworth Road, Golborne during the period of 15th of December 2025 to 23rd of December 2025.

Please note there is no alternative route available, however access will be maintained for residents where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow works to be undertaken for the replacement of a frame and cover.

Tenbury Drive, Ashton-In-Makerifeld – Temporary Closure

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant

Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Tenbury Drive, Ashton-inMakerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Tenbury Drive, Ashton-inMakerfield during the period of 20th of October 2025 to 3rd of November 2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Balliol Way, Low Bank Road and Melford Drive.

The Order is necessary to allow works to be undertaken for the installation of a new drainage connection. Dated this 14th day of October 2025
