Bury – Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(BOND STREET, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Bond Street, Bury – between Queen Street & Rochdale Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate electricity connection works

The alternative routes will be via Wash Lane, Derby Way, Rochdale Road and vice versa

The proposed Order will come into operation on 28/10/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 week.

(VARIOUS – WHITEFIELD, RADCLIFFE, RAMSBOTTOM)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

1. Ten Acre Drive, Whitefield – full length

2. Eight Acre, Whitefield – full length

3. Belgrave Street, Radcliffe – full length

4. Robert Street, Radcliffe – full length

5. Springwood Street, Ramsbottom – full length

6. Boulden Drive, Ramsbottom – full length

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works

The alternative routes will be:-

1. Eastbound via Ringley Road, Ringley Drive, Ganton Avenue, Standmoor Road & westbound via Ringley Road, Old Hall Road, Hillingdon Road, Hawkstone Avenue

2. N/A – no through road

3. Via phased diversions which will be in place as and when required by the works

4. Via Knowles Street, Robertson Street, Lowton Street, Watson Street

5. N/A – no through road

6. Holme Avenue, Brandlesholme Road, Throstle Grove, Hebburn Drive, Whitburn Drive & vice versa

The Order comes into operation on 13/10/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 1 week.

(PEEL BROW, RAMSBOTTOM)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:–

Peel Brow, Ramsbottom – between South Street & Cheshire Court

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate United Utilities works

The alternate routes will be:–

East bound traffic – Bury New Road, Manchester Road

West bound traffic – southbound on Manchester Road, Walmersley Road, Moorgate, Brook Street, northbound Walmersley Road, Manchester Road, Bury New Road, Peel Brow

The Order comes into operation on 13/10/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately up to 1 week.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(FAIRFAX ROAD/RECTORY LANE, PRESTWICH)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:–

1. Fairfax Road, Prestwich – between Highfield Road & Heys Road/Poppythorn Lane

2. Rectory Lane, Prestwich – from its junction with Fairfax Road to a point 25m south of Fairfax Road

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate excavation for new services & facilitate the completion of the Travel Hub.

The alternative route will be via Bury New Road, St Mary’s Road, Rectory Lane (St Mary’s Road to Heywood Road) Heywood Road & Heys Road & vice–versa

The Order will come into operation on Monday 13 October 2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is up to 9 months (Closure operational Mondays 7am to Fridays 5pm, roads re-opened at weekends)
