Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
A2 Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 4JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne from 6th November 2025, with estimated completion by 14th November 2025, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Vincent Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling east is via A2 East Street, St Michaels Road, Dover Street, West Street, London Road, Key Street, Key Street Roundabout, A249 Maidstone Road, M2 J5 On slip, M2, M2 J6 Off Slip, A251 Ashford Road, A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, Ospringe Street, London Road, The Street, Fox Hill and Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling west is via A2 Canterbury Road, Fox Hill, The Street, London Road, Ospringe Street, London Road, Canterbury Road, A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6 On Slip, M2, M2 J5 Off Slip, A249 Maidstone Road, A2 Key Street Roundabout, Key Street, London Road, West Street, St Michaels Road and East Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bannister Hill, Borden, ME9 8HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bannister Hill, Borden from 3rd November 2025, with estimated completion by 7th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Borden Lane and outside Brierly, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Pond Farm Road, Sutton Barn Road, Wrens Road, Hearts Delight and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Barton Hill Drive, Minster-on-sea. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Barton Hill Drive, Minster-on-sea from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 31st October 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with B2008 Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2500 Lower Road, Forty Acres Hill, Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Chequers Road, Chapel Street, High Street, Back Lane and Minster Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Brogdale Road, Faversham & Ospringe. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brogdale Road, Faversham & Ospringe from 3rd November 2025, with estimated completion by 11th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
Brogdale Road will be closed between the junctions with Tettenhall Way and Porters Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brogdale Road, A2 London Road, A2 Canterbury Road, A251 Ashford Road, A251 Faversham Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A252 Charing Hill, A20 Maidstone Road, A20 Ashford Road, Rayners Hill, Waterditch Lane, Warren Street, Bunce Court Road, Otterden Road, The Street, Eastling Road, Whitehill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Road, Tonge. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Tonge from 9th November 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Lomas Road and Blacketts Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
College Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow water mains repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of College Road, Sittingbourne from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 22nd October 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Barrow Grove and Manor Grove, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via College Road, Homewood Avenue, Ufton Lane, Epps Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Head Hill Road, Graveney & Head Hill, Goodnestone. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Head Hill Road, Graveney & Head Hill, Goodnestone from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 23rd December 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Whitstable Road and Sandbanks Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for traffic travelling north is via Head Hill Road, Whitstable Road, A299 Thanet Way, Thanet Way Whitstable off-slip, A2990 Thanet Way, B2205 Borstal Hill, Joy Lane, Faversham Road and Seasalter Road.
The alternative route for traffic travelling south is via Seasalter Road, Faversham Road, Joy Lane, B2205 Borstal Hill, A2990 Thanet Way, A299 Thanet Way Whitstable on-slip, A299 Thanet Way, Staple Street, Staple Street Road and Whitstable Road.
The alternative route for HGV’s is via Whitstable Road, A299 Thanet Way, Highstreet Road, Monkshill Road, Seasalter Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
A gate marshall will be positioned on Monkshill Road between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00 to control HGV movements due to the narrowness of the road. An additional gate marshall will be sited on Headhill Road during school start and finish times to assist with traffic management.
Mill Lane, Hartlip. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Hartlip from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 24th October 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with A2 Hartlip Hill and number 10, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Hartlip Hill, Lower Hartlip Road, Munns Lane, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Monkshill Road, Hernhill. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Monkshill Road, Hernhill. The first closure will take place on 2nd November 2025, between the hours of 01:45 and 10:00. The second closure will take place from 23:00 hours on 2nd November 2025, with estimated completion by 04:00 hours on 3rd November 2025.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A299 Thanet Way, Thanet Way, Clapham Hill, Borstal Hill, Joy Lane, Faversham Road, Seasalter Road and Monkshill Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Old Hockley Road, Throwley. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Old Hockley Road, Throwley from 4th November 2025 with estimated completion by 5th November 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Pettfield Hill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Old Hockley Road, Church Road, Pettfield Hill Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Pond Farm Road, Borden, ME9 8LG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pond Farm Road, Borden from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 24th October 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Denne Court and Aberfield, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sutton Baron Road, Wrens Road, Hearts Delight Road, Bannister Hill, The Street, Pond Farm Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
St Johns Road, Faversham, ME13 8BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow sewer repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Johns Road, Faversham from 3rd November 2025, with estimated completion by 14th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2040 East Street and William Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via William Street, St Marys Road, East Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
School Lane, Iwade, ME9 8GY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Iwade from 23rd October 2025, with estimated completion by 31st October 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Basser Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ferry Road, Sheppey Way, Stickfast Lane, Iwade Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne from 5th November 2025, with estimated completion by 7th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Bourne Grove and Gadby Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staplehurst Road, A2 London Road, Chalkwell Road, Hythe Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne, ME10 4QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 24th October 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Highsted Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Highsted Road, Bell Road, Crown Quay Lane, A2 St Michaels Road, A2 East Street, A2 Canterbury Road, Swanstree Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Crescent, Teynham, ME9 9EW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Crescent, Teynham from 4th November 2025 with estimated completion by 5th November 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Conyer Road and number 25, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, Lower Norton Lane, A2 London Road, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Boughton Under Blean, ME13 9SL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025
To allow frame and cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Boughton Under Blean from 7th November 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Colonels Lane and The Ridgeway, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stockers Hill, Canterbury Road, A2 Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Brenley Corner Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable Road, Staple Street, Staple Street Road, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
