Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
A274 Sutton Valence Resurfacing (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Sutton Valence, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Abbey Farm, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow water asset repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Upper Street, Leeds, on or after 7th November 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Churchill Cottages, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, B2163 Leeds Road, B2163 Upper Street and vice versa.
B2246 Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, ME16 0ZQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow streetlight works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2246 Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the two sets of permanent traffic lights in the vicinity of Tesco Express, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via B2246 Hermitage Lane, A20 London Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2246 Fountain Lane and B2246 Hermitage Lane.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via B2246 Hermitage Lane, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road and B2246 Hermitage Lane.
Buckland Hill, Buckland Road, A20 London Road, Maidstone, ME16 0DT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF NO RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Buckland Hill, Buckland Road & A20 London Road, Maidstone, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.
Buckland Hill will be closed from the junction with A20 London Road to St Peters Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Buckland Road will be closed between property number 74 Buckland Road to the side of property number 27 Buckland Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, and St Peters Street.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via St Peters Street, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A20 Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road and Buckland Hill.
The No Right Turn on A20 London Road at the junction with Buckland Hill will be suspended for diversion.
Buckland Hill, Maidstone, ME16 0SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow for unloading of materials to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Buckland Hill, Maidstone, on or after 9th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Buckland Hill, Buckland Road, St Peters Street and vice versa.
Busbridge Road, Loose, ME15 0ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Busbridge Road, Loose, on or after 7th November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Loose End. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Busbridge Road, Well Street, Forstal Lane, Stockett Lane, Busbridge Road and vice versa.
Douglas Road, Maidstone, ME16 8ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow electric works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Douglas Road, Maidstone, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 26A. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Douglas Road, Charles Street, Reginald Road, Westree Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Bower Place and Bower Lane.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Bower Lane, Florence Road and Charles Street.
Fant Lane, Maidstone, ME16 8TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fant Lane, Maidstone, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with A26 Tonbridge Road and the junction with Gatland Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gatland Lane, Farleigh Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road and vice versa.
Gleaming Wood Drive Footpath, Lordswood (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit pedestrian through traffic on part of Gleaming Wood Drive Footpath, Lordswood, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 33 days or until the works have been completed.
The footpath will be closed from the side of property number 29 in a North direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any pedestrians is via Pinewood Drive, Gleaming Wood Drive and vice versa.
Goudhurst Road, Staplehurst, TN12 0HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Goudhurst Road, Staplehurst, on or after 21st October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction of Cork Lane and the junction with Pristling Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Hawkenbury Road, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow accident repair damage to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hawkenbury Road, Staplehurst, on or after 5th November 2025 for up to 23 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge over the river. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honey Lane, Otham, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stud Cottage, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lenham Road, Platts Heath, on or after 7th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New House Lane, Headcorn, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow footway extension works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Detling, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in one direction only at the left turn onto A249 Detling Hill, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Church Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road.
Pilgrims Way, Hollingbourne, Thurnham & Detling ME17 1UP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow signage installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Pilgrims Way, Hollingbourne, Thurnham & Detling on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Upper Street and Queensway. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic between Upper Street and Water Lane is via Upper Street, Eyhorne Street, A20 Ashford Road, Roundwell, Water Lane and vice versa.
The alternative route for any through traffic between Water Lane and Thurnham Lane is via Water Lane, The Street, The Green, Ware Street, Thurnham Lane and vice versa.
The alternative route for any through traffic between Thurnham Lane and Queensway is via Thurnham Lane, Ware Street, Hockers Lane, The Street, Princes Way, Queensway and vice versa.
Salts Lane, Loose, ME15 0BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Salts Lane, Loose, on or after 24th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Loose Viaduct. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Salts Lane, Old Loose Hill, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Hubbards Lane, Salts Lane and vice versa.
Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath, ME14 2HG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow new gas connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 16. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandling Lane, Boxley Road, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Staceys Street, A229 Royal Engineers Road, Running Horse Roundabout, Sandling Lane and vice versa.
South Street Road, Stockbury (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street Road, Stockbury, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
South Street Road will be closed in 2 sections as follows:
Between the junction with Bimbury Lane and Yelsted Road to property called Flips Hole. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Street Road, Yelsted Road, Hill Green Road, South Street Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for Southbound through traffic on Plum Tree Road and Westwood Road is Hill Green Road and South Street Road.
Between the junction with West Wood Road to Steppes Hill Farm.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westwood Road, Hill Green Road, South Street Road and vice versa.
There will be no access to South Street Road from Chalky Road.
The Weavers, Maidstone, ME16 0NQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow new cable installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Weavers, Maidstone, on or after 22nd October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 16. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Tower Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tower Lane, Bearsted, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Tower House, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tower Lane, Yeoman Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Roseacre Lane and vice versa.
