Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

 

Canterbury Road, Wingmore (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canterbury Road, Wingmore, on or after 21st October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 2 Palm Tree Cottages, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, High Street, New Road, Canterbury Road, Longage Hill, The Minnis, High Minnis, Mockbeggar, B2068 Stone Street, B2068 Street End, B2068 Faussett Hill, Bridge Road, Station Road, High Street, Bridge Hill, Bonny Bush Hill, Black Robin Lane, Valley Road, Derringstone Hill, Elham Valley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cuckolds Lane, Snargate, TN29 0EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cuckolds Lane, Snargate, on or after 21st October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at Warehorne Bridge, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Arrowhead Lane, B2080 Rhee Wall Road, Short Lane, Cuckolds Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Dental Street, Hythe, CT21 5JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dental Street, Hythe, on or after 20th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside The Crown to outside Willow Down, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dental Street, Station Road, A259 Prospect Road, Rampart Road, High Street, Malthouse Hill, Bartholomew Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Elvington Lane, Hawkinge, CT18 7AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Elvington Lane, Hawkinge, on or after 5th November 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Dane Farm for approximately 200m in a Northerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crete Road West, Gibraltar Lane, Elvington Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
