Ashford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

ASHFORD AREA

 

Benenden Road, Biddenden, TN27 8BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Benenden Road, Biddenden from 7th November 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A262 Tenterden Road for approximately 550m in a southerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A262 Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, High Halden Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road, Silver Hill, Beacon Oak Road, East Cross, High Street, West Cross, Rolvenden Road, Cranbrook Road, Benenden Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Burton Road, Kennington, TN24 9EU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Burton Road, Kennington from 20th October 2025, with estimated completion by 24th October 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 28 and 32, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burton Road, A2042 Faversham Road, Church Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Marsh Road, Ruckinge, TN26 2PY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Marsh Road, Ruckinge from 4th November 2025, with estimated completion by 7th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Tarpot Lane and B2067 Hamstreet Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Hamstreet Road, Bilsington Road, Ruckinge Road, Newchurch Road and Kitsbridge Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ram Lane, Little Chart. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ram Lane, Little Chart from 23rd October 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hurst Hill bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ram Lane, A20 Maidstone Road, Cades Road, Station Road, School Road, West Street, Little Chart Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Swain Road, Tenterden, TN30 6SN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swain Road, Tenterden from 7th November 2025, with estimated completion by 10th November 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Huntsbourne Cottage and Oak Tree Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swain Road, A28 Ashford Road, Silver Hill, Beacon Oak Road, B2067 Woodchurch Road, Brook Street, Swain Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
