(Alresford Viaduct (Bridge No.328), B1027 St Osyth Road, Alresford) (Temporary 18 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
Effect of the order: To introduce a temporary 18t weight limit from the northwestern end of the Alresford Viaduct (Bridge No.328) to its southeastern end, a distance of approximately 70 metres for the protection of the weak structure. There are no exemptions to this restriction
The restriction is scheduled to commence on 11 October 2025 and continue in force for 18 months. A permanent restriction with the same effect is also proposed
(Abbey Field View, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Abbey Field View, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Little Foxburrows for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03766678205 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while manhole cover and frame replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Little Foxburrows and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Aspen Way, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Aspen Way, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Sycamore Road to its junction with Lime Avenue a distance of approximately 60m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2383515 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kerbing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Sycamore Road, Lime Avenue and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Chapel Road, Fingringhoe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Road, Fingringhoe in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 95m south west of its junction with Upper Haye Lane for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310780866 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Chapel Road, Abberton Road, Fingringhoe Road, B1025, Abbot’s Road, Old Heath Road, Fingringhoe Road, Chapel Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Dial Road, Great Bentley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dial Road, Great Bentley in the District of Tendring from its junction with Holly Bush Hill to its junction with Colles Brook Road a distance of approximately 745m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2386652 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Colles Brook Road, South Heath Road, Dead Lane, Holly Bush Hill and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(East Street, Coggeshall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Street, Coggeshall in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Saint Peters Road to its junction with Parklands a distance of approximately 205m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 11 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-226 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new drainage pipe connection works are undertaken by GTM.
An alternative route is available via B1024, West Street, A120 Coggeshall Bypass, B1024 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Heath Road, Fordham Heath) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Heath Road, Fordham Heath in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 75m south east of its junction with Wood Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30027095657 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new line and pole works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Heath Road, Spring Lane, Halstead Road, Wood Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Turner Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Turner Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 65m north west of its junction with Hollymead for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd November 2025 – (20:00–05:00) for 1 night, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310783270 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Turner Road, Mill Road, Northern Approach Road, and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Langham Lane, Langham/Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Langham Lane, Langham/Boxted in the City of Colchester, from the junction of Severalls Lane to the junction of Park Lane a distance of approximately 2190m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388227 & EP201EH2388227A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gully chamber and pipe works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via: Severalls Lane, A1232, A12, Park Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nayland Road, Great Horkesley) (Temporary Introduction of 30 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit on that length of Nayland Road, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 360m southeast of its junction with Blackbrook Road for a distance of approximately 200m in both directions. The speed restriction is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2389837 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The speed restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
The Order came into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(North Station Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of North Station Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Moreton Road to its junction with Albert Roundabout a distance of approximately 115m.
To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 – (19:30–05:00) for 6 nights, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153087681 – Essex County Council).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while maintenance works are undertaken on The Albert Roundabout by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via A133, A134, Middleborough, North Station Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 2nd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Oak Road, Tiptree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Oak Road, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Kelvedon Road for a distance of approximately 280m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to continue from 6th October 2025, or where stated on a valid permit (EP003S50-2222 – Kingsheath Construction Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation of storm water rising main works are undertaken by Kingsheath Construction Ltd.
An alternative route is available via B1023, B1022, Oak Road and vice versa.

(Spring Lane, Eight Ash Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Spring Lane, Eight Ash Green in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Heath Road to its junction with A1124 Halstead Road a distance of approximately 795m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387547 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repairs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Marys Fields, in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 25m north west of its junction with Popes Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02294202741 – Nationwide Traffic Solutions). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester, as detailed in the Schedule.
To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of The Avenue/The Cross/Colchester Road, Wivenhoe, from the junction of Boundary Road to the junction of Belle Vue Road as cited in the “The Colchester Borough (Rectory Road Etc., Wivenhoe) (Weight Restriction) Order, 1984” for the duration of the closures only.
