A2070 TRUNK ROAD – SEVINGTON, ASHFORD TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A2070 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are being executed in the vicinity of the road.
This forms an extension of Temporary Notice NH/2025/E806 (which it thereby replaces) as permitted by The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 (a), Regulation 7.
The effect of the Order is to authorise the continuing 24-hour closure of the footway adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A2070 between Orbital Park Junction and Barrey Road.
This measure is in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the installation of high voltage cables for a recharging facility.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 6 weeks starting on or after Thursday 16th October 2025.
The Order will come into force on 16th October 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Pedestrians and cyclists affected by the closure will be diverted using The Boulevard, Crowbridge Road and Link, Boys Hall Road, and Church Road
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
P Clarkson, an Official of National Highways Limited.
