Grange-Over-Sands - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(OXENHOLME LANE, NATLAND AND CHARNEY WELL LANE, GRANGE-OVER-SANDS)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of:

(i) Oxenholme Lane, Natland, from its junction with Long Meadow Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 300 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Oxenholme Lane, Natland Road and Burton Road (A65).

Duration: From 27th October 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/15634)

(ii) Charney Well Lane, Grange-Over-Sands, from its junction with Hampsfell Road, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of approx. 100 metres.

Alternative Route for West Bound Vehicles: via Hampsfell Road, Main Street, Grange Fell Road, Eden Mount Road and the unrestricted section of Charney Well Lane.

Alternative Route for East Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted section of Charney Well Lane, Eden Mount Road, Grange Fell Road, Pig Lane and Hampsfell Road.

Duration: From 29th October 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/16046)

The Order will come into operation on 27th October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
