Westmorland and Furness - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(STOCKGHYLL BROW, AMBLESIDE AND C5026 LAKESIDE NEAR FINSTHWAITE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of:

(i) Stockghyll Brow, Ambleside, from its junction with Stockghyll Lane, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 140m. There is no suitable diversion route available for vehicles. Duration: From 29th October 2025 for approx. 3 days

(Ref: TTROW/16073)

(ii) C5026 Lakeside near Finsthwaite, from a point adjacent to a property known as Ridding Bay Lodge, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 470m. Alternative Route: via the A590, A592, A591, B5286 and the unrestricted sections of the C5026. Duration: From 3rd November 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/15850)

The Order will come into operation on 29th October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the works will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
