What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(STAYTHORPE FOOTPATH NO.1) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council HAS MADE an ORDER, under Sections 14 and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

To continue the effects of THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (STAYTHORPE FOOTPATH NO.1) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) NOTICE 2025.

That Notice came into force on 3rd September 2025 and was continued in force by a second Notice which came into force on 24th September 2025.

The effects are that:-

No person shall: -

(a) proceed on foot,

in the following length of Footpath at Staythorpe in the District of Newark and Sherwood:

Staythorpe Footpath No.1 – From Staythorpe Road end along the land to level crossing.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is an alternative route for pedestrians provided by developers and follows the site/field boundary.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above highway or highways will apply as follows: -

To 3rd March 2026 inclusive.

The Continuation Order will come into force on 15th October 2025 and any prohibition contained in the continued Order shall apply on that day and on any subsequent day or days when it shall be necessary for the prohibition to apply to enable works to be carried out and the Order shall continue in full force until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed. The duration of this Order may be extended with the approval of the relevant Secretary of State.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety while approved construction works are carried out.
