Kirkgate, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Bollard Installation Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2285 KIRKGATE, COCKERMOUTH) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable works to take place for the installation of bollards ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2285 Kirkgate, Cockermouth from its junction with the C2064, Market Place, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 6m.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of U2285 Kirkgate, Victoria Road, B5292 Lorton Street, U2286 Station Road, A5086 Gallowbarrow, C2064 Main Street and Market Race.

The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day, between 0900 and 1600 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
