Distington, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4104, CHURCH ROAD AND KILNSIDE, DISTINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. U4104, Church Road, Distington from a point approx 50m northwest of its junction with Main Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 50m; and

2. U4104, Kilnside, Distington from its junction with Church Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 20m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Church Road, Barfs Road, U4102, B5306, and Main Street

The Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
