What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Church Street, Upwey

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHURCH STREET, UPWEY between its junctions with Elwell Street and Goulds Hill, a distance of approximately 585 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 27 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 7 November 2025. This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to line the sewer using no dig method to prevent infiltration. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; B3159 - A35 - A354 - Dorchester Road - Stottingway Street. Temporary Closure of Lower Way, Chickerell

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along LOWER WAY, CHICKERELL between no. 103 Lower Way, Chickerell and its junction with Putten Lane, a distance of approximately 55 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 13 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 November 2025. This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to facilitate new drainage pipework. An alternative route will be signed using: School Hill - East Street - Lower Way. Temporary Traffic Management Order of Various Roads, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 12 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 November 2025. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface treatment works and associated ironworks. The effect of this Order will include; [1] To impose temporary road closure on Coburg Road between its junctions with Edward Road and Clarence Road, 14 October - 24 October between 0800 and 1800. [2] To impose temporary road closure on Edward Road between its junctions with Weymouth Avenue and Alexandra Road, 14 October - 20 October between 0800 and 1800. [3] To impose temporary road closure on Lucetta Lane for it entirety, 13 - 16 October between 0930 and 1430. [4] To impose temporary clearway on Coburg Road between its junctions with Edward Road and Clarence Road to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works, 14 October - 24 October between 0800 and 1800. [5] To impose temporary clearway on Edward Road between its junctions with Weymouth Avenue and Alexandra Road to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works, 14 October - 20 October between 0800 and 1800. [6] To impose temporary clearway on Lucetta Lane for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works, 13 - 16 October between 0930 and 1430. Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council’s vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/ Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 November 2025. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance works. The effect of the Order is as follows: [1] To impose a temporary road closure on BARROWLAND LANE, TOLLER PORCORUM, between its junction with High Street and its junction with Shatcombe Lane, a distance of approximately 2135 metres. [2] To impose a parking suspension, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent waiting on the highway along BARROWLAND LANE, TOLLER PORCORUM, between its junction with High Street and its junction with Shatcombe Lane, a distance of approximately 2135 metres. [3] To impose a clearway, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent waiting on the highway along BARROWLAND LANE, TOLLER PORCORUM, between its junction with High Street and its junction with Shatcombe Lane, a distance of approximately 2135 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Temporary Closure of Catherines Well, Milton Abbas

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 11th November 2025 and remain in force for 18 months however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13 November 2025. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works. The effect of the order is as follows: [1] To impose temporary road closure on Catherines Well, Milton Abbas. between 4 Middleton Row, Catherines Well and 36a Catherines Well (in both directions) a distance of approximately 140 metres. There will be no alternative route on this occasion, however residents access will be maintained. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads. [2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Catherines Well, Milton Abbas. between 4 Middleton Row, Catherines Well and 36a Catherines Well (in both directions) a distance of approximately 140 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23 October 2025. This Order will enable Colas and Dorset Council to carry out surface treatment works and associated ironworks. The effect of this Order will be; [1] To impose temporary road closure on Selwyn Close for its entirety. [2] To impose temporary clearway on Selwyn Close for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works. Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. The County of Dorset (Various Roads, Cheselbourne) (20mph Speed Limit) (No. 3) Order 2025

Dorset Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. When the Order comes into operation on 17th October 2025 the effect of the Order will be to introduce 20mph speed limits along sections of various roads in Cheselbourne (a plan of the locations can be found on our website, details below).
