Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

  1. Pearce Way (Part), Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Appian Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out cycleway improvement scheme and associated works. Alternative route via Pearce Way (unaffected length) – Sycamore Drive – Hartley Way – St Clements Way – St Thomas Way – A30 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 05 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 03 June 2026. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 07743 981695.
  2. C287 (Part), Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with The Steadings to its junction with Greenlane Close to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out cycleway and associated works. Alternative route via C287 (unaffected length) – Ford Lane – A338 – A30 – A36 – A345 – C287 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 03 June 2026. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 07743 981695. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
  3. A360 (Part), Shrewton; from its junction with Tanners Lane to its junction with High Street to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via A360 (unaffected length) – A303 – A345 – A342 – A360 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 1 day.   4. C288 (Part), Idmiston; from its junction with A338 for a distance of approximately 2.2km in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works. Alternative route via C288 (unaffected length) – A345 – Down Barn Road – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 until 21 October 2025.   5. C32 (Part), Enford; from its junction with Littlecott Mill for a distance of approximately 60m in a northerly direction to enable MJ Abbott to carry out new foul, storm connection and heat and flow return pipes, duct and associated works. Alternative route via C32 (unaffected length) – A342 – A345 – C260 – C32 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 and the closure will be required until 25 October 2025. For further information please contact MJ Abbott on 01722 716361.
  6. Rambridge Crescent (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with A36 to its junction with Rambridge Crescent (unaffected length) to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new electrical supply installation and associated works. Alternative route via Rambridge Crescent (unaffected length) – Westwood Road – A36 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 and the closure will be required until 24 October 2025. For further information please contact Clancy Docwra on 01489 250 815. Orders A) to F) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The closures will be in effect when the signs are in place and vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding in the lengths of roads described above. Access will be maintained where possible for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 3 (Part), South Newton; from its junction with Footpath 4, South Newton to its junction with Footpath 2, South Newton to enable removal of existing footbridge and ancillary works followed by the installation of a new replacement footbridge on behalf of the Environment Agency. Alternative route via Footpath 3, South Newton (unaffected length) – A36 – Footpath 4, South Newton and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be required until 24 October 2025. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, HARNHAM, SALISBURY) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025 Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to introduce a 20mph speed limit on Essex Square, Kent Road, Norfolk Road, Parsonage Green, Saxon Road, Suffolk Road, Sussex Road and Wiltshire Road, Harnham, Salisbury – the complete lengths. Deposit copies of the Order, plan and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Salisbury Library, Market Walk SP1 1BL during the hours of 10am to 7pm Monday, 9am to 7pm Tuesday and Friday, 9am to 5pm Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday. Documents can also be viewed online at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/troconsultations.
