A470 trunk road at Dinas Mawddwy, Gwynedd- Temporary restrictions due to UK Athletics Fell and Hill Relay 2025 event

THE A470 TRUNK ROAD (DINAS MAWDDWY, GWYNEDD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC PROHIBITIONS & RESTRICTION) (NO. 2) ORDER 2025
THE WELSH MINISTERS have made an Order under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is necessary to enable the UK Athletics Fell and Hill Relay 2025 event to be held on or near the A470 trunk road at Dinas Mawddwy, Gwynedd.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily:
i. Create a clearway on the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions will apply for vehicles used by the emergency services or for the event.

ii. Prohibit all vehicles, other than those being used for the event, from using the lay-bys adjacent to the length of the A470 trunk road described in the Schedule to this Notice.

iii. Impose a 40 mph speed limit on the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Notice.

iv. Prohibit overtaking on the length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Notice.

The Order comes into force on 18 October 2025 and has a maximum duration of 1 day. The temporary prohibitions and restriction are expected to operate from 06:00 – 22:00 hours on that date.

SCHEDULE The length of the A470 trunk road at Dinas Mawddwy, Gwynedd that extends from a point 1 metre east of the centre-point of its junction with the access road to Penantigi Uchaf to a point 1 metre west of the centre-point of its junction with Ffordd Gilcwm.

GORCHYMYN CEFNFFORDD YR A470 (DINAS MAWDDWY, GWYNEDD) (GWAHARDDIADAU A CHYFYNGIAD TRAFFIG DROS DRO) (RHIF 2) 2025
MAE GWEINIDOGION CYMRU wedi gwneud Gorchymyn o dan adran 16A o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984. Mae angen y Gorchymyn er mwyn gallu cynnal digwyddiad ‘UK Athletics Fell and Hill Relay 2025’ ar gefnffordd yr A470, neu gerllaw iddi, yn Ninas Mawddwy, Gwynedd.

Effaith y Gorchymyn yw gwneud y canlynol dros dro:
i. Creu clirffordd ar y darn o’r gefnffordd a ddisgrifir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn. Bydd esemptiadau yn gymwys i gerbydau a ddefnyddir gan y gwasanaethau brys neu ar gyfer y digwyddiad.

ii. Gwahardd pob cerbyd, ac eithrio’r rhai a ddefnyddir ar gyfer y digwyddiad, rhag defnyddio’r cilfannau sy’n gyfagos i’r darn o gefnffordd yr A470 a ddisgrifir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn.

iii. Gosod terfyn cyflymder 40 mya ar y darn o’r gefnffordd a ddisgrifir yn yr Atodlen i’r Hysbysiad hwn.

iv. Gwahardd goddiweddyd ar y darn o’r gefnffordd a ddisgrifir yn yr Atodlen
i’r Hysbysiad hwn.

Daw’r Gorchymyn i rym ar 18 Hydref 2025 a bydd yn para am 1 diwrnod ar y mwyaf. Disgwylir y bydd y gwaharddiadau a’r cyfyngiad dros dro yn weithredol o 06:00 – 22:00
o’r gloch ar y dyddiad hwnnw.
