Derby Road - Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order

What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (DERBY ROAD) TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025.

The Order will introduce a road closure on Derby Road, between the hours of 8pm to 6am, in both directions at the motorway bridge crossing the M602, Salford, M6 5YD. The Order is required to facilitate the replacement of the existing parapet handrailing on the motorway bridge. 

The order is due to come into operation on Monday 3rd November 2025 and will last for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Saturday 10th January 2026. 

The diversion routes are via: 

• Eccles New Road - Weaste Road - Liverpool Street, vice versa.
• Eccles New Road - Langworthy Road - Liverpool Street, vice versa.
