What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE

BRIDLEWAY KILLINGWORTH EAST 1 TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order is to prohibit all through traffic along a section of Bridleway Killingworth East 1 west of the B1317 (Killingworth Lane) for approximately 309 metres, as and when signage dictates. The diversion is via another public path and Simonside Way, Killingworth for approximately 455 metres. Note: horse riders and people on bikes are advised to utilise the Simonside Way carriageway. The Order is required on a temporary basis for engineering works and will come into force on 3 November 2025 for a period not exceeding 6 months (it is anticipated the works will actually be completed by 20 December 2025).
