Southtown Lane - Temporary Road Closure To Pole Testing And Tree Cutting Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Southtown Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Southtown Lane - from 486 metres south-east from the junction with Hillside, eastwards for a total distance of 301 metres.

This Order will enable Openreach to carry out pole testing and tree cutting works.

The Order becomes effective on 23rd October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 27th October 2025 and last until 27th October 2025 between the hours of 09:30 - 15:30 for a total of 6 hours.
