What is happening?

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRADLEY ROAD WEST, NEW SCOTLAND ROAD AND PENDLE STREET, NELSON, PENDLE BOROUGH) (PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above pedestrian crossing under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1) Remove a pedestrian crossing in New Scotland Road, Nelson, from a point 5.5 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Pendle Street, for a distance of 38.5 metres in a southerly direction.
2) Introduce a parallel zebra crossing in the following lengths of road:
a) Bradley Road West, Nelson, from a point 6.5 metres east of its junction with the centreline of Scotland Road/New Scotland Road for a distance of 33 metres in an easterly direction;
b) New Scotland Road, Nelson, from a point 13 metres north of its junction with the projected centreline of North Street for a distance of 45.5 metres in a southerly direction;
c) Pendle Street, Nelson, from a point 4.5 metres west of its junction with the centreline of New Scotland Road for a distance of 18 metres in a westerly direction;
d) New Scotland Road, Nelson, from a point 5 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Pendle Street for a distance of 36.5 metres in a southerly direction.

A copy of the relevant notice and plan indicating the location of the crossing may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Pendle Borough Council, No1 Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 9LU and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
