What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U2133 Bolton Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Suspension of Parking) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily suspend parking in the following length of road;

Temporary Parking Suspension

Bolton Road – disabled persons parking places between the junction with U2135 Lismore Road and the junction with U2134 Terminus Road.

Replacement disabled persons parking places will be provided in U2140 Tideswell Road between the junction with U2140 Longstone Road and the junction with A259 Susans Road, replacing the shared permit and paid parking bay.

The Order commences 10 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 October 2025 and 31 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2220 Magpie Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow CityFibre to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Magpie Road – from No.20 to No.17.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2191 Willingdon Drove – U2220 Kingfisher Drive, Magpie Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 Eastbourne Road/East Dean Road, Seaford/Exceat)

(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Eastbourne Road/East Dean Road – from Forrest View to Exceat Cottage.

The Order commences 25 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 25 October and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2297 Caburn Close, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Caburn Close – for its full length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 27 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 31 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7732 Broad Road, Lower Willingdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.3

To allow Foxdown Construction Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Broad Road – from the junction with A2270 Eastbourne Road to the junction with U7930 Farmlands Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7732 Broad Road – C341 Wannock Lane – C40 Wannock Road – A2270 Eastbourne Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 27 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 October and 14 November 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2156 Sydney Road/Melbourne Road, Eastbourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Suspension of One-Way Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sydney Road – for its entire length.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2156 Sydney Road, Melbourne Road, Belmore Road and vice versa.

Suspension of one-way traffic (revert to two way) Sydney Road – for its entire length.

Melbourne Road – for its entire length.

The Order commences 30 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 and 31 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
