Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Roads & Footpath Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The A134 Colchester Road, Assington

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A134 Colchester Road, Assington from 380 metres northwest of Stoke Road for 30 metres north westbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A134, the A133, the A1124, the A131 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7:00pm on 09/10/2025 – 5:00am on 10/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C218 Cratfield Road, Cookley

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C218 Cratfield Road, Cookley from 179 metres north of Oak Green for 230 metres northbound to facilitate a telegraph pole replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Cratfield Road, Walpole Road, the B1117, Low Road, Laxfield Road, Linstead Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/10/2025 - 10/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U5911 Bobby Hill, Wattisfield

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5911 Bobby Hill, Wattisfield from the junction with the A143 for 300 metres northbound to facilitate a new water main. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bobby Hill, Wattisfield Road, Hinderclay Road, the A143 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/10/2025 - 12/12/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C653 Moulton Road. Moulton

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C653 Moulton Road, Moulton from 350 metres west of no. 1 for 250 metres westbound to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Moulton Road, the A1304 the B1506, the B1085, Newmarket Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 20/10/2025 from 9:30am – 3:30pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U5009 Sir Alf Ramsey Way, Ipswich

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5009 Sir Alf Ramsey Way, Ipswich from Constantine Road to Portman Road to facilitate cleaning football stands. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Portman Road, Handford Road, London Road, West End Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/10/2025 -10/10/2025 from 7:30am – 5:00pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C660 The Green, Bury Road And Barrow Road, Barrow, Great Saxham And Little Saxham

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

C660 The Green, Barrow

C660 Bury Road, Barrow

C660 Barrow Road, Great Saxham

C660 Bury Road, Little Saxham from Barrow Road, Great Saxham to Honey Hill, Little Saxham.

This is to facilitate surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bury Road, Hargrave Road Little Saxham, Chevington Road, North Hill Great Saxham, Birds End, Barrow Road Hargrave, Barrow Hill, The Green Barrow and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/10/2025 - 13/10/2025 from 7:00pm – 5:00am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1079 Market Hill, Woodbridge

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1079 Market Hill, Woodbridge from the junction with Theatre Street to the junction with Seckford Street to facilitate sewer works.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Theatre Street, Church Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 09/10/2025 from 10:00am – 3:00pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of Footpath 8, Lavenham

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing Footpath 8, Lavenham from 287 metres east of the junction with Lower Street and Prentice Street for 60 metres eastbound for safety reasons to enable public safety due to dangerous path. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

There will be no diversion route.

This order continues in force the emergency measures operating since 19/09/2025.

It is intended that the closure will operate until 18/03/2026 (or longer if extended by

the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The A154 Beach Station Road, Felixstowe

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A154 Beach Station Road, Felixstowe from the railway crossing for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate a safety inspection and repairs to the level crossing systems. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Walton Avenue, the A14, the A154 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 9:30pm on 18/10/2025 – 8:30am on

19/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer

if extended by the Minister).
