India Lane, Montrose - Temporary Closure

What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER

On 06/10/2025 Angus Council made The Angus Council (India Lane, Montrose) (Temporary Prohibition and Restriction) Order 2025, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that Scottish Gas connection works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on 13/10/2025, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of 12 days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months.

The effect of the Order is to: (1) prohibit all vehicular traffic from driving and waiting on India Lane, Montrose from its junction with Eastern Road in an easterly direction for a distance of 100 meters or thereby; and (2) suspend the one-way system on India Lane, Montrose. Access for residents, pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. The alternate route for vehicular traffic is via Eastern Road, Bents Road, Teviot Place, India Street and India Lane.
