Queen Street, Maidenhead - Christmas Light Switch-On

What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF 
WINDSOR & MAIDENHEAD
(MAIDENHEAD CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH-ON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, REVERSAL OF ONE-WAY 
TRAFFIC ORDER & NO ENTRY) ORDER 2025
SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to:-
Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Queen Street from its junction with Broadway to its junction with High Street; that part of High Street from its junction with Queen Street to its junction with St Ives Road and along St Ives Road for its entire length, or to permit any vehicle to enter Bridge Street from its junction with Forlease Road. For the duration of the closure only, the One-Way restriction as described in Part III, Article 3. and detailed in Schedule 1 of the Royal County of Berkshire (High Street Area, 
Maidenhead) (Traffic Regulation Order) 1993, will be reversed between its junctions with St Ives Road and Bridge Avenue to allow vehicular traffic to exit the existing one-way system.

The purpose of the proposed Order is to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, namely the Maidenhead Christmas Light Switch-on. The proposed Order will come into operation between 09.00 and 21.00 hours on Saturday 22 November 2025.
