Harp House Roundabout, Temporary Road Closure Due To Roadworks
What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic, Parking, Stopping, Waiting, Loading And Unloading (TT025-26-30) Order 2025 (Harp House Roundabout)
Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council has proposed to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from stopping, waiting, loading, unloading and parking at the Harp House roundabout.
The closure is scheduled to commence from 7:30pm on the 14th October 2025 to 6:00am on the 15th November 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The alternative routes will be Manners Way, Cuckoo Corner, Prince Avenue, Priory Crescent, Eastern Avenue, Sutton Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect from 7:30pm on the 14th October 2025 until 6:00am on the 15th November 2025; however, this Order may continue in force for a maximum of 18 months to allow for remedial work or delays.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst work is carried out for planned roadworks and maintenance.
Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure. The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
