Between Blythe Bridge and Cavendish Bridge - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic in Laybys
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) and (7)
THE A50 (BETWEEN BLYTHE BRIDGE AND CAVENDISH BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC IN LAYBYS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A50 Trunk Road, between Blythe Bridge and Cavendish Bridge, in the Counties of Staffordshire and Derbyshire, to enable layby remedial and reconstruction work to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close, in phases, any layby adjacent to the A50 between its roundabout junction with the A521 (Tean roundabout), near Blythe Bridge, and the centre point of its roundabout junction with the B5010, the B6540, Trent Lane and Ryecroft Road (Sawley Junction), near Cavendish Bridge.
The works are expected to start on Monday 27 October 2025 and continue for approximately six months. The Order will come into force on 24 October 2025.
Vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures.
