North Hill, Fareham - Prohibition of Right Turns and Entry
What is happening?
THE HAMPSHIRE (NORTH HILL, FAREHAM)
(PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURNS AND NO ENTRY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 23rd September 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER:
In relation to new road layouts will be to:
(i) prohibit right turns on the northern exit of the North Hill service road on to the northbound carriageway of A32 Wickham Road
(ii) prohibit entry on North Hill south of its junction with the A32, in a northerly direction entering A32 Wickham Road
(iii) prohibit entry on North Hill south of its junction with the A32 in an easterly direction entering A32 Wickham Road
(iv) prohibit entry on A32 Wickham Road south of its junction with North Hill in a southerly direction entering the A32 (northbound)
(v) prohibit entry on A32 Wickham Road at the northern exit of the North Hill service road in a westerly direction entering the North Hill service road
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 4th October 2025.

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT:
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Friday 14th November 2025 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
