What is happening?

 THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

PART OF NEWPORT STREET, GOOLE

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on foot/whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along part of Newport Street, Goole from its junction with Marcus Street to its junction with Cross Street West commencing 25 October

2025 until 2 November 2025 between 08.00 hours until 16.30 hours (residents access for parking will be available outside of these times).

The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed Newport Street, Goole gas mains replacement works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within nine days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Marcus Street, Manuel Street, Boothferry Road and Newport Street, Goole CP, Goole South Ward, Goole North Ward. The road will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.

The Order will commence 25 October 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
