Wickham Road, Fareham - Implementation of With-Flow Bus Lanes

What is happening?

THE HAMPSHIRE (WICKHAM ROAD, FAREHAM)

(WITH-FLOW BUS LANE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 23rd September 2025, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 122(1) and 122(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER:

The following changes relate to new road layouts and will be to implement with-flow bus lanes on A32 Wickham Road as described below:

(i) A32 Wickham Road on its west side, between a point approximately 60 metres north of the northern exit from North Hill service road to a point approximately 325 metres further north.

(ii) A32 Wickham Road on its east side, between a point approximately 20 metres north of its junction with Furze Court to a point approximately 275 metres further north.

DATE OF OPERATION:

The order will come into force on Saturday 4th October 2025.

(Opening hours: Monday to Friday 08.45 – 17.15)

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ

(Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT:

Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Friday 14th November 2025, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
